This
site is all about the Gomersall
family and its origins in the township of Gomersal
in West Yorkshire, England.
The two small villages of Gomersal
and Little Gomersal are situated
within the parish of Birstall,
whose ancient parish church is believed to stand on a religious
site which preceded the Norman conquest and the names 'Gomersal'
and 'Birstall'are
of pre-conquest origin.
We
are undertaking a 'Gomersall' one
name study embracing everyone with the name or any of its many
variants. We are members of the Guild of One Name
Studies and the Yorkshire Archaelogical
Society.
We
would be delighted to hear from anyone who is actively researching
their Gomersall ancestors or Gomersal
the place.
If you have a query about your family send us an email and
we will do our best to answer it.
