After William Gomersall's death in 1900, Agnes and Carrie went to live in Eccles where John Ellis by now had a successful butchers shop and not far from Hubert in Urmston. However at some stage Carrie married .... Maxfield who had a bicycle shop in Skipton and they subsequently moved to Burton - in - Lonsdale where they ran the post office and a bicycle shop. They had two children, Agnes Margaret amd Helen.
